We are Design Team 2 in the Biomedical Engineering (BME) Department at Johns Hopkins University (JHU). With support from professionals in the BME Department, the Johns Hopkins Military  & Veterans Health Institute (JHMVHI), and local clinicians, we are working to build a more effective and intuitive device to assist in performing emergency cricothyrotomies on patients with maxillofacial trauma in order to reduce the mortality rate of those with injuries leading to airway obstruction. Our device, CricSpike™, aims to solve all of the issues with the current technolgies through several novel features.
